The Final wall is NOW gone.

Steve & I took out the final lath & plaster wall on Saturday. I think the demo is all done now, yeah!

Ok so I was wrong.... there is at least 1 more to go

After talking to Steve I found out that we have at least one more wall to take out.
We now have Almost all the sheetrock done in the living room. We got the final ceiling piece hung yesterday. I will be really nice once it's finished :)

We have eliminated some square footage in the living room to become a closet for the master bedroom. See the new framed wall Steve just put up? Yes that would be the back wall of the new closet.

See Rascal above the door he climbed up the ladder & hopped up there. I watched him do it I just didn't think he would really get above the door.

Thank goodness Steve was there to rescue him I am not sure that I could have balanced that well on the ladder to save us both.

Steve has been working on hanging more dry wall, mudding & taping.
He sure stays busy.

The kitchen now has lights & sheet rock on the 1 wall.

As you see Steve took out more walls. The house is much lighter with all the lath & plaster gone.

The bedroom wall going in the master bedroom closet has been taken out.

Steve was able to hang some sheet rock on the living room ceiling, install recessed lighting in the kitchen, hang some sheet rock on the kitchen walls which includes insulation & put down some more particle board floor.
Besides the house, Steve installed some ceiling vents to the garage roof (while it rained).
We are now pondering the kitchen lay out again. We are wondering if there is a better way to lay it out so it wont feel so cramped. If you have any ideas let us know.

More progress made

Steve was working really hard on the house yesterday. He got most of the drywall on the ceiling & installed the new attic pull down ladder.
He has been so busy this week with a flood in the basement that he hasn't had a whole lot of time for the house. And then on Tuesday while he was in the garage he saw the ceiling leaking. He is now working on that & the new jeep.
Life sure gets crazy at times. But at least it's better then Monday "the flood day".

You may be asking what I have been doing all this time Steve has been working on the house. I do clean up. The sawdust in this picture I did clean up.

Steve was able to get the old linen closet knocked out & the new door framed up.

Steve also removed the big prickly bush that was over on the left.

Steve has been working on the drywall/sheetrock the past few days. Rascal was also trying to help.

Steve also pulled out a bush in the front yard. There's always something to be done.

Week 6

Today Steve was busy working on the pipe.

Kallie really wanted to go up in the attic. Steve had to move the ladder so she wouldn't go up & help.

I have now lost track he has been working on the house every day. Things are progressing yet it hasn't changed to much thus there are no new photos.
Steve has re run electrical, plumbing lines & will be working on the crazy silver heat flu in the next few days.

Steve is working hard today doing electrical work & changing out some of the sub flooring.

Well it seems another wall must come out to get it done the way we want it too. Studs aren't the best....

I was avoiding getting hit by flying pieces of lath & plaster.

More progress... day's 8,9 &10

In the passed few day's Steve has been pulling up the floor to get view of moving the vent pipe. Also he has been working on the electrical so will have more lighting. With the removal of walls he as had to also move light switches. We have also widened the door way into the Living room now things will be able to me moved easier.

As for me I have pulled a few nails to reuse some boards & helped clean a little.
